Fantastic to see 25 young lads making the trip to Larne last night to represent the Bloomfield Fuels DRFC Rugby Academy and come home with a hard fought 19-14 win. Meat Pies for Zac, Morgan and Curtis with points off the Tee added by Adam and Zac.
A great team performance with so many stand out individual performances but the Player of the Day award goes to Curtis- who tackled like a warrior all night, was ruthless at the breakdown and picked up his first ever try in 15 a side rugby.
Dick of the Day - Aurrel - for wearing his match jersey home.
Special mention must go to Debuts in the Red & Green for Callum, Matthew and Danny.and also Rory who came straight to Larne from a transatlantic flight just to get back in the Dee jersey over the holidays.
The DRFC Rugby Academy is about developing all things rugby, not just the players and Big thanks and congratulations to match day Coach Morgan McCartney who now has a 100% record to uphold next Tuesday vs Ards.
Finally thanks must go to all the sponsors and volunteers who have helped to get the DRFC Rugby Academy off the ground in recent years.
